Guardrail Finance, LLC, its affiliates, and Principals are involved in the ownership of multifamily and commercial real estate assets valued at over $280 million currently in nearly 20 States in the US. 

He has originated, structured, underwrote, and closed both debt and equity transactions and investments in office, retail, industrial, self-storage, multifamily, senior assisted living, and both residential and commercial condominium properties throughout the US, Japan, South America, and Europe.  Newstead works closely with clients to understand their unique needs in order to provide optimal debt and equity financing solutions predominantly for stabilized and value-add properties, and to work with investors looking to diversify their investments into cash flowing opportunities with upside. 

Newstead worked for CBRE Capital Markets, Capmark Finance (and its predecessor GMAC Commercial Mortgage), Blackpoint Capital Advisors, and Booz Allen Hamilton prior to founding Guardrail Finance.  Newstead is a licensed Broker in the State of California.  Newstead has worked and lived in the San Francisco Bay Area, Hawaii, Tokyo, Japan, and the Netherlands.  Newstead is married with two children.
